Avocado Pesto


A great alternative to traditional pesto. Easy, just throw all the ingredients in a blender and you’re good to go, a nutritious pesto that will appeal to avocado lovers. This recipe can replace mayonnaise in your sandwiches, as a marinade on chicken before roasting and of course as a delicious alternative to tomato sauce on your favorite pasta.

Step 1: Grind to the consistency of a puree

  • Basil, fresh, 40 g
  • 1 avocado
  • Parmesan or Romano cheese, powder, 125 ml (½ cup)
  • Garlic, ½ – 1 clove (to taste, optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Avocado oil, 1 tbsp (15 mL)


Step 2: Water, add 1 tbsp (15 mL) at a time to desired consistency
